Feast of Color - the use of extreme color in fashion photography
Fashion images are often desaturated and a kept to cool tones. Which is a pity because color can send a very strong and individual message.
With this shot above the light had been bad. It was filtered through trees, and there were sunspots all over, with a very high difference of intensity that went beyond what the camera could do (I think it was something of 7 openings, very extreme)
This is where the fight was: I could either have blown out faces or drowned in black clothes, which was both unacceptable.
At the time of the shoot I photographed it in a way that kept me the maximum amount of image information without blowing things out and letting darker parts (like clothing) sink into solid black.
Of course - bad light gives not the best color, and I needed to decide to go either low key with little color and islands of light, or high key with exaggerated color. I chose the strong color and create the Alice in Wonderland scenery that you see in the above picture.
