Consciousness and Beauty
Does consciousness get in the way of creating beauty? The German heretic of the classics, Heinrich von Kleist, definitely thought so as he defined the soulless marionette the ultimate performer as it had no consciousness.
When you look at the artwork created by the force of nature, which also has no consciousness, you might agree. But then, how could the human mind get in the way of beauty?
Isn't the human mind that gets in the way of beauty a human mind that got out of the way of the human mind and is erring in a place not far from hell?
How can that still be human? Where there is no beauty, there is no humanity.
