A Moment on a Country Road and the defeat of Time.
Time goes fast, but we have the power to stop it in its tracks.
Nietzsche wrote about the ever repeating cycle, that old becomes new becomes old, which is an understanding of time that goes beyond the simple concept of a timeline.
If I make a stop on the road I stop everything rushing by. I can take a break, a breather, and have a closer look.
These things will imprint themselves on my mind, and I will have those images, those experiences, which I would not have had if I had rushed on.
Five minutes open up another world, another reference in time, a break in the linear rush. You just created a fork in the timeline. An enhanced experience of the trees and the grass and the voices of the birds.
You have defeated time by understanding that eternity is contained in each moment, no matter how short it is.
